Homemade Hamburgers recipe

These are great for barbecues and week end lunches. Choose good quality minced beef for best results. They also freeze well.

Ingredients



450g lean minced beef
50g fresh breadcrumbs
4 tbsp milk
1 small onion,finely grated
½ tsp English mustard
Salt and pepper
2 tbsp vegetable oil
25g butter
8 burger buns
8 lettuce leaves

Method

Method

1 Combine the beef, breadcrumbs, milk, onion, mustard and seasoning together, divide into 8 equal sized pieces. Shape into burgers which are1cm thick.

2 Heat the oil and butter in a large frying pan, fry 4 burgers at a time over
a high heat for 1 minute each side.

3 Reduce the heat and cook for 6-8 minutes, turning occasionally. Keep
warm whilst frying the remaining burgers. Serve the burgers in a bun lined with lettuce.
